We visited Rocky Mountain National Park from the Estes Park entrance, and it was Elk's rutting season, so we had the privilege to see a few different bull elks with their herums (can be up to 60, we saw one w 27). WE drove to 12,183ft from Bear Lake to Alpine Visitors Center. Photos of the view and the elks below....

Garden of the Gods and Pike's Peak
We also went south of Denver on a trip to Colorado Springs to see Garden of the Gods ( appropriately named; added some photos from last trip too) and to drive up one of the fourteeners- Pike's Peak, saw some beautiful sites, but also terrifying drive with switch backs and drop offs. saw big horn sheep at 13,000.
Canyonlands National Park & Dead Horse Point State Park
on the way to Canyonlands we were able to visit a state park Dead Horse Point and go right into Canyonlands, they are basically connected. Here are images from both.
Arches National Park
It was a great drive from Denver Colorado to Moab, Utah. Took about 5 and 1/2 hrs. we stayed in Moab, on the strip and went to Arches a few times. It was other worldly. The photos speak for themselves.
